Laponia World Heritage is unique for its natural and cultural values. Here the indigenous people of the region, Sámi, are active in both reindeer herding in the area as well as being a part of governing the World Heritage Site. You are invited to join our guide on a five day hike through Laponia World Heritage to learn more about the arctic nature and lifestyle in the area.
The summer in this area means vivid nature and great chances for spotting animals that inhabit the area. It’s the time of the year when reindeer graze from the rich mountainsides and nature literally explodes under the midnight sun. The berries growing along the way are filled with energy and you can refill your water bottle with clean water straight from the streams.
During five days you hike in various mountain environments and three och Swedens largest National Parks which are part of Laponia World Heritage. Along the way we stay in mountain huts, total of five night, and the final night will be spent at Saltoluokta Mountain Station Lodge where you can enjoy a sauna and a 3-course dinner made from local produce.
This is a great way to explore Laponia World Heritage in a safe way with a great deal of knowledge to bring back home.
